I, too, am extremely disappointed with eq2 but for a different reason. My beef is with the immaturity of the server population. I cant speak to all servers, but the one I played on for five years (Everfrost) has become ridiculous. A handful of immature little punks spend all their time in public chat berating other players and spewing vile, obscene, obnoxious garbage. It is almost worse than WoW... almost. My advice is if you want to try eq2 for yourself, do not play on the Everfrost server

I played Istaria back when it came out ages ago. Was fun, I really liked that you could switch classes whenever you wanted. You can only have 2 active at once, but no penalty for switching them out at any time. They game was supposed to have dynamic world changing events that would happen on a monthly basis, but that ended up not really happening, too bad since the players were very nice compared with other gankfest games out there.

I went back and tried the free trial a couple of months ago, but it was a ghost town. I ran around for about 10 minutes and never saw another person! I really wish this game would take off, the crafting system was a lot of fun (I'm more of a crafter anyway). Come to think of it, this game still has features that other more popular mmorpgs only dream of, live being able to build player cities, guild halls, etc.

I'd come back if they could attract a decent player base!
